WiseMapping
Wise Mapping is the web mind mapping tool that leverages the power of Mind Maps mixing new technologies like vectorial languages (SVG and VML) and the power of the whole Web 2.0 concept. No pluggin required.
A mind map is a diagram used to represent words, ideas, tasks or other items linked to and arranged radially around a central key word or idea. It is used to generate, visualize, structure and classify ideas, and as an aid in study, organization, problem solving, and decision making.
It is an image-centered diagram that represents semantic or other connections between portions of information. By presenting these connections in a radial, non-linear graphical manner, it encourages a brainstorming approach to any given organizational task, eliminating the hurdle of initially establishing an intrinsically appropriate or relevant conceptual framework to work within.
A mind map is similar to a semantic network or cognitive map but there are no formal restrictions on the kinds of links used. The elements are arranged intuitively according to the importance of the concepts and they are organized into groupings, branches, or areas. The uniform graphic formulation of the semantic structure of information on the method of gathering knowledge, may aid recall of existing memories.
Mindomo
Mindomo is perhaps one of the best free web-based mind mapping applications. Mindomo comes with a very elegant interface which mimics Microsoft Office. MyThought for Mac
MyThoughts for Mac Creates Fluid, Organic, Curvy Mind Maps that work in a way that the human brain enjoys!
If you illustrate something with straight lines, rigid boxes and lists the human brain is snoring in no time at all. But, given shape, curves, images and color the human brain loves it and drinks it all in. So, why would you want a Mind Map that has straight branch lines, rigid templates and inflexible layouts?
MyThoughts for Mac introduces a new level of freedom in the use of Mind Mapping Software allowing you to create Unique, Flowing, Brain Friendly Mind Maps.
Mind42
Mind42 is a totally free mind mapping web app and it is one of my favorites. The interface is a good one, and it has some excellent features such as easy navigation for large mind maps with zoom and birdview (and branch hiding, but that’s pretty standard these days), and the ability to attach notes and images to branches, which isn’t always allowed in “pure†mind mapping software. You can also link branches to other sites and see a preview when you rollover the link, which I think is probably the only appropriate use of those preview rollovers anywhere on the net.

Thanks for the great compilation! Some additional mind mapping tools are available at http://www.pearltrees.com/conciselearning/1424071.
I am really surprised that Spinscape isn’t on your list! As a web-based mind mapping application is technologically superior to most of the other ones I’ve tried. And some of the applications you listed don’t seem to be really mind mapping tools, like WikkaWiki, Pimki/RubyForge, and Wridea. Otherwise, it’s a great collection of tools. Thanks for sharing!
Disappointed MindApp (http://www.mindapp.com) didn’t make this list. It’s a fantastic mind mapping application that just works; it’s fast, automatic … no fiddling around rearranging layouts and branches like some of these other apps.
The excellent overview of mind mapping tools, thank you! My personal choice is FreeMind.

Thank you for this list! Looks like it took a year for me try a biggest part of it. My budget and needs made me stay with Mindomo. Nice, easy and good looking tool.
Nice list. I had searched earlier for this on Google & had a little idea about WiseMapping. Also a seminar on Mindmeister was given in my college by a senior student. Never knew so many tools existed. Thanks
We all need to organize our thoughts sometimes, and there seems to be no better way to do it than in a visual fashion. ConceptDraw MindMap has a couple of options. You can start from a blank document or you can choose from one of the pre-loaded templates or you can select ‘Brainstorm’. A feature I really love.
